Just Volleyball Release Date: Delay Status

Just volleyball still shows November 4 on Steam, but temkosoft says the launch will slip. Here is the current status and the realistic new window.

Last Updated: 2026-11-02

The Steam store still prints November 4, 2026 for just volleyball. The developer does not. In a Steam announcement published on October 31, temkosoft said the game will "most likely not release on November 4 as planned" and pointed to a Steam review queue that has taken longer than expected. That makes the store date a moving target, not a promise.

Short answer

Plan for a launch between November 10 and November 15, 2026, not November 4. The store page has not been updated yet, and no new date has been locked.

The November 4 date is still visible on Steam

The store page for just volleyball lists a release date of November 4, 2026 and a "coming soon" state. There is no price, no pre-purchase button, and no demo download. That combination matters: Valve's storefront can show a planned date while the build is still in review, and the date does not update itself when a developer announces a slip on the news feed.

If you only check the top of the store page, you will conclude the game launches in two days. If you check the announcement feed, you get the opposite answer. For buying decisions, the announcement is the newer and more specific source.

What temkosoft said on October 31

The announcement is short and unusually direct. It does not blame Valve, and it does not pretend the date is still achievable. The key sentence is:

"just volleyball will most likely not release on November 4 as planned."

— temkosoft, Steam announcement, October 31, 2026

The developer explains that Steam review passes have been taking seven to fourteen days, that fixes were submitted as quickly as possible, and that the review has still not cleared. The same post gives a working estimate: "I would expect it to be 10-15 days from now minimum instead." Counted from October 31, that lands on November 10 at the earliest and November 15 at the outside.

This is not a marketing delay. A review queue is a platform process, and the developer cannot ship a public build until it clears. The practical consequence is that the old Discord date of November 5 at 1:00 am is also dead.

The dates, side by side

Date Source Status
November 4, 2026 Steam store page Still displayed, no longer realistic
November 5, 2026, 1:00 am Developer message quoted on the Steam forum Superseded by the October 31 post
November 10-15, 2026 October 31 announcement ("10-15 days minimum") Current best estimate, not a lock
"When it passes review" The only condition the developer controls The actual gate

The table is deliberately blunt. A store date is a plan; a review pass is a dependency. Until the store page flips from "coming soon" to a purchase button, no date is final.

Why the review queue moved the launch

Steam review is not a single check. A store page, build, build settings, and any associated demo or playtest app can each need attention. The developer said the process has taken seven to fourteen days and that the team has been fixing issues as they come back. That is consistent with a small studio shipping its first commercial build on Steam: the code may be ready while the store configuration is not.

There is also a demo history in the same account. The Next Fest demo ran through late October and was delisted afterward. A demo page that has been taken down, a playtest app that remains listed, and a full game that has not cleared review create three separate store states. It is easy for a release date to look stable on the surface while the underlying app is still moving.

For a player, the lesson is simple: watch the announcement feed and the purchase button, not the date field. The date field is cached metadata. The purchase button is the actual release.

What to do before the new window

You cannot buy the game yet, so the useful preparation is mechanical rather than financial. The demo is gone from the store, but the controls and the court sense are still learnable from public footage and from the playtest build if you already have it installed. Start with the controls guide and spend a session learning how the cursor, not the movement keys, decides where the ball goes.

If you are deciding whether to buy at launch, the price page covers the developer's stated $7.99 base and the 38% launch discount. The demo page explains what the Next Fest build contained and what carries over. Neither page promises that the discount will survive the delay; a launch discount is tied to launch, and the launch date has moved.

One more thing worth doing: join the official Discord. The developer posts small status updates there before they become announcements, and the community is large enough that someone will notice the moment the store page changes. The Discord guide has the invite and the channel layout.

Will the delay change the price or the demo?

The delay does not automatically change the price. The $7.99 base and $4.95 launch price come from a developer message quoted on the Steam forum, not from a live checkout page. A later launch can still carry the same launch discount, but the discount clock starts when the game actually ships. Do not treat the $4.95 figure as a permanent price or as a pre-order price; there is no pre-order.

The demo is a separate question. The Next Fest demo ended on October 29 and the demo app now returns no store data. A second demo before launch is possible but has not been announced. The safer assumption is that the next public build you can download will be the paid game.

What would change this answer

Two events would invalidate the November 10-15 estimate. The first is a new store date or a purchase button appearing earlier than expected. The second is another announcement that pushes the review window further out. Both would be visible on the Steam news feed and in the Discord. Until one of them happens, the estimate above is the most defensible reading of the public evidence.

FAQ

Is just volleyball delayed?

Yes, in practice. The Steam page still says November 4, but the developer's October 31 announcement says the game will most likely miss that date because Steam review has not cleared. The realistic window is November 10-15.

Did the developer give a new release date?

No. The announcement gives a range ("10-15 days from now minimum"), not a locked date. A new store date has not been published.

Can I still pre-order just volleyball?

There is no pre-order. The store page has no price and no purchase button, only a coming-soon state.

Will the game cost $4.95 at launch?

The developer's quoted message says a $7.99 base price with a 38% launch discount, which is about $4.95. That figure is not yet live on Steam, and the discount is tied to the eventual launch.
